贯休画作

五代前蜀画家、诗僧。俗性姜，字德隐，婺州兰溪（今属浙江）人。7岁出家和安寺，苦节峻行，为吴越王钱镠所重，唐天复间入蜀，蜀主王建称其为“禅月大师”。赐以紫衣，能诗，诗名高节，宇内咸知，尝有句云：“一瓶一钵垂垂老，万水千山得得来。”时称“得得和尚”。夙以诗名，部分作品反映了当时的社会现实。兼善草书，时人比之为阎立本、怀素。存世《十六罗汉图》，相传为其作品。所著有《禅月集》。
擅绘画，尤其是所画罗汉，更是状貌古野，绝俗超群，笔法坚劲，人物粗眉大眼，丰颊高鼻，形象夸张，所谓“梵相”。在我国绘画史上，有着很高的声誉。太平兴国初，宋太宗赵炅搜访古画，给事中程羽牧蜀，将贯休《罗汉》十六帧进呈，欧阳炯为之歌，《宣和画谱》著录御府所藏其作品30件。传世画迹《十六罗汉图》相传为其所作，现藏日本京都高台寺。绢本，水墨，纵111.4厘米，横50.5厘米，有“西蜀僧贯休作”伪款，右上有“皇祐图书”朱文印，应为宋人摹本。
《益州名画录》记载：
画罗汉十六帧，庞眉大目者，朵颐隆鼻者，倚松石者，坐山水者，胡貌梵相，曲尽其态。或问之，云：“休（贯休自称）自梦中所睹尔”。又画释迦十弟子，亦如此类，人皆异之。颇为门弟子所宝，当时卿相，皆有歌诗。求其笔，唯可见而不可得也。
据《遂昌县志》载，贯休曾在遂昌北去十五里的唐山住有十四年。相传原有翠峰院就是贯休创建的。传说遂昌有座风景优美的唐山，上面有罗汉、观音两峰对峙，白云缭绕，山深路幽，称为胜景。贯休云游到这里，爱上这里山水，就结庐山中，一住就是十四个春秋。他除了早夜诵读佛经外，就是作画，发愿要画出十八罗汉像，作为唐山镇山之宝。画就的十七幅罗汉像，个个栩栩如生，神态各异，但画十八个罗汉时怎么也画不好，画出来的总是在十七罗汉像中找到相似之处，贯休画了又撕，苦闷极了，急得在山上乱跑。有天碰到位采药老汉，谈起这事，那老汉劝他到山涧边对着潭水画。贯休走到水边一看，水里倒映着他的影子，忙照着样子画了下来，成为最生动的一幅罗汉像。明末著名画家陈洪绶深受其风影响。
