林墉，1942年4月23日出生。广东潮洲人，1966年毕业于广州美术学院中国画系。现任中国美术家协会副主席，广东画院院长，美协广东分会主席,中国画研究院院务委员，广东省文联副主席，党组成员，全国人大主席成员团成员。享受国务院特殊津贴专家，国家一级美术师。1989年任第六届全国美展评选委员副主任，1991年受聘中国画研究院院务委员，1993年受聘暨南大学艺术中心主任。1997年中央电视台《东方之子》播出专辑。与陈金章、杨之光、许钦松、伍嘉陵、方楚雄、林丰俗等为岭南画派杰出代表传人。
