陈秋草，1906.02.17-1988.05.23，字秋草，号犁霜、实斋，室名风之楼。[1]祖籍浙江鄞县，生于上海。少年时就读于上海万竹小学、万竹乙种商业学校学习。1925年肄业于上海美术专科学校。曾为上海明星影片公司作字幕装饰画，后任上海大理石厂造型设计师。1928年起与潘思同、方雪鸪等筹办白鹅画会，并创设白鹅绘画研究所，1934年改名白鹅绘画补习学校，同时任良友图书公司《美术杂志》编辑，编辑有《白鹅年鉴》、《装饰美》、《白鹅画刊》。1936年后，专志于中国传统绘画的研究与创作。1945年起创设劲草社，1946年后参加上海美术作家协会。1950年参加华东军政委员会文化部艺术处工作，1954年被任为上海美术工艺品供应社主任，并创办新中国美术研究所。1955年任中国美术家协会展览部部长兼上海美术馆馆长。曾当选中华全国美术工作者协会委员。中国美术家协会第二、三、四届理事，美协上海分会常务理事、副秘书长，上海市文联委员，市人大代表。早年兼事中、西绘画，后擅长中国画。作品有中国画《满目青山夕照明》；《笼中鸟》藏於上海博物馆；《乐园在望》藏於人民大会堂。有多幅作品为中国美术馆及各地博物馆收藏。插图《小蝌蚪找妈妈》获联合国教科文组织亚洲文化中心颁发的拿玛奖。早年曾多次举办个人画展。1984年、1987年分别于上海美术馆、中国美术馆举办个人画展。出版有《粉画集》、《素描速写》、《花卉小景画选》、《秋草画集》、《秋草花卉》、《小品画选》等。

 Chen Qiucao, 1906.02.17-1988.05.23, word Qiucao, No. plough frost, Shizhai, room famous wind building. [1] Originally from Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province, he was born in Shanghai. As a teenager, he studied in Shanghai Wanzhu Primary School and Wanzhu B Business School. He graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1925. He worked as a subtitle decorative painting for Shanghai Star Film Company and later as a stylist for Shanghai Marble Factory. Since 1928, he has organized the White Goose Painting Fair with Pan Sitong and Fang Xueyao, and founded the White Goose Painting Institute. In 1934, he changed his name to the White Goose Painting Tutoring School. At the same time, he was editor of the Fine Arts Magazine of the Good Friends Books Company, and edited the White Goose Yearbook, Decorative Beauty and White Goose Painting Magazine. After 1936, he devoted himself to the research and creation of traditional Chinese painting. Jincao Society was founded in 1945 and joined Shanghai Artistic Writers Association after 1946. In 1950, he joined the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture of the East China Military and Political Commission. In 1954, he was appointed Director of Shanghai Art and Crafts Supply Society and founded the New China Institute of Fine Arts. In 1955, he was Minister of Exhibition Department of China Artists Association and Director of Shanghai Art Museum. He was elected a member of the All-China Association of Fine Arts Workers. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th members of the Chinese Artists Association, the executive director and deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Branch of the Association of Artists, the member of the Shanghai Municipal Literary Federation and the representative of the Municipal People's Congress. In his early years, he engaged in both Chinese and Western painting, and later he was good at Chinese painting. His works include the Chinese painting "Lighting on a Evening of Green Mountains", "Birds in Cages" in the Shanghai Museum and "Paradise in Look" in the Great Hall of the People. Many works are collected by the Chinese Art Museum and other museums. The illustration "Tadpoles Finding Mothers" won the Nama Prize awarded by UNESCO Asian Cultural Center. In his early years, he held many personal paintings exhibitions. In 1984 and 1987, individual exhibitions were held at Shanghai Museum of Art and China Museum of Art. Publications include "Pink Painting Collection", "Sketch Sketch", "Flower Scenery Selection", "Autumn Grass Painting Collection", "Autumn Grass Flowers", "Selection of Sketches" and so on.
