牧歌，本姓穆，名默也，汉族，甘肃天水人。1953年毕业于西北艺术学院。国家一级美术师，中国美术家协会会员、中国版画家协会会员、新疆美协国画艺委会顾问、新疆山水画研究会会长。作品多次参加国内外展览并获奖，部分作品被毛主席纪念堂、天安门、中国美术馆、故宫博物院等有关部门收藏。1995年被新疆文联授予“有突出贡献的美术家”称号，颁发“金驼奖”；1996年被授予中国优秀版画家“鲁迅版画奖”；2006年被授予“中国文艺杰出成就艺术家”称号；2007年被中国国学研究会世界汉诗协会授予“国家学”荣誉称号。
